The University of Pavia (UNIPV) is founded in 1361 and is one of the world’s oldest academic institutions. It covers all subject areas - Science and Technology, Engineering, Life Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences - and is composed of 18 Departments offering study programmes at all levels.
UNIPV participates in more than 400 international agreements with universities and collaborates in research projects with the most advanced international laboratories. The University is an active promoter of research and has 7 research centres based in Pavia and 21 in different sites in collaboration with other institutions, in addition to 42 interdepartmental research centres.
University of Pavia has an excellent tradition in research on entrepreneurship and in development of advanced management systems using innovative technologies. UNIPV is carrying on research in collaboration with a network of other Universities on Distance Learning and Practice Management, as it concerns the teaching and the tutorship supported by its links with the SMEs and Business Community. This is strictly connected with Students Career Services and activities of apprenticeship in public and private companies.
